Rotarians around the world celebrated the start of a new Rotary year. New Rotary International President Shekhar has asked us to Serve To Change Lives; not only of those who benefit from our projects, but also our own lives.
Easton Rotarians rang in the new Rotary year at the Pomfret Club. Outgoing and incoming President BJ accepted the President’s pin from Assistant Governor Jean. Chef Ron presented a special menu featuring options including Caesar salad, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, and the infamous Metz Dog. Jim Palmeri received his long- awaited Steamboat speaker gift. Jim also surprised the Club by unveiling a long-lost Rotary artifact. The Palmeri barn has been the home for the legendary Golden Bedpan for many years. The item stems from the days when the Easton and Phillipsburg Clubs had an annual golf challenge. Gordon Bigelow and Jean McGill represented our Club at the District changeover where we were recognized for our polio contributions and as one of the District Clubs to qualify for the Rotary Citation.
